First Week: Sunday, April 21st-Thursday, April 25th
Our 2013 adventure began on Sunday, April 21st at the office of Ron Kaufman, with a Town Hall Meeting of the Global Speakers Federation (GSF) leaders including, presidents, past presidents, president elects of Malaysia Association of Professional Speakers (MAPS), Asia Professional Speakers of Singapore (APSS), a few members of the GSF board and Certified Speaking Professionals from Asia and beyond After a stimulating conversation about the future of GSF, the group joined the rest of TWCCTW participants and APSS leaders at Jumbo Seafood at East Coast Seafood Centre. Food for thought followed by thoughts of food… including Black Pepper and Chili Crab. A delicious day indeed.
Let the fun begin. The Learning Buffet, Key Media’s HR Summit & Trade Show and the Asia Professional Speakers- Singapore Conference were running simultaneously this week.
The Learning Buffet at the Royal Plaza on Scotts Hotel kicked off the week. TWCCTW provided an entire week of programs, two each day at 10 AM and 3 PM. National Speakers Association President, Ron Culberson kicked off the first session, followed later by Jonathan Low, 2015-16
President of the GSF and long time TWCCTW member. Eight speakers from the TWCCTW tour spoke with a few special guests from GSF filling in the last two spots. The Learning Buffet was provided to the Royal Plaza free of charge in exchange for sponsorship for TWCCTW and accommodation. Staff at the Royal Plaza were invited to sign up for any of the 10 programs that interested them. An average of 70 Royal Plaza employees attended each session.
The APSS Conference was a full day event on Tuesday, April 23rd. Lynn Leahy was the only TWCCTW member that spoke while many of the others attended and supported this event.
Key Media’s HR Summit & Exhibit at the Marina Bay Sands Conference Center ran Wednesday and Thursday with close to 4,000 attendees. TWCCTW traded a booth in exchange for sponsorship from HRM Magazine and the HR Summit. APSS donated $5000 to TWCCTW in exchange for sharing this booth. Carol Talbot, Rebecca Morgan, Lynn Leahy, Scott Friedman and Jonathan Low spoke during the two day event.
